Anthony heads to Alaska

I got up at 4 a.m. this morning to take Anthony to the Tucson Airport.

He was invited by his aunt to go on a cruise in Alaska.  I don't have money to travel, so he had to go without me.  It's a once in a lifetime opportunity so I'm excited for him to have a good time.

He'll be gone for a total of ten days.  It's the longest we've been apart since we met over five years ago.

He occasionally travels to Los Angeles to visit the same aunt that sprang for the cruise.  He's usually only gone for three or four days when he goes to California, and I always feel weird being home alone.  Lucky doesn't like it either, he is very anti-social whenever we are both not here together.

Anthony was so apprehensive about traveling that he didn't sleep at all last night.  That made him pretty crabby this morning (I slept just fine for a whole four hours), but I tried to keep my mouth shut, agree with most everything he said, and got him to the airport as fast as I could drive without getting a ticket.  Anthony was also complaining about being hot so he turned on the air conditioning in the car full blast and I froze to death for half an hour.  I'm delicate, you know.

In addition to Anthony being gone, it'll be a weird week at work as well.  One of my co-workers is leaving, and a newly hired one starts on Thursday.  I never like feeling unsettled and this is certainly going to be one of those weeks.

I'm looking forward to seeing photos of Anthony's trip when he gets back on August 12.  Hopefully he'll get a little sleep while he's gone.

He wouldn't hold still long enough for me
to get a goodbye photo.
A hater of the Kenparazzi even on his way to Alaska.
