DJ AM found dead

DJ AM (Adam Goldstein), who survived a fiery plane crash in September 2008, was found dead in his New York City apartment today.

He had not been heard from in several days. A friend went to check on him and when he didn't answer the door the friend called NYPD. They broke down the door and found his body. Apparently drug paraphenalia was also found.

Story broke on www.tmz.com - the same folks who first reported Michael Jackson's death.

Tucson Police and Fire Scanner

When I am at my desk at the radio station scheduling music I like to listen to the police and fire scanner.

I think it's interesting to hear what's going on around Tucson. And, thanks to the technology of the internet, it's online via a page from the Arizona Daily Star's website (www.azstarnet.com).

Here's the link if you have interest in listening too. http://mizar2.azstarnet.com/scanner/

Runpee.com

I ran across a pretty interesting website: www.runpee.com

It's a site that tells you when the best times are during a movie to go to the restroom.

They think of everything on the internet!

The unexplainable dream

Just had the oddest dream during a nap I took this afternoon.

I was at a mall & interrogated by mall security when one of the security officers handed me one of those black batons with the handle on it & then accused me of stealing it from him.

The mall I was at (don't recognize it from my dream) had a dozen officer security force and all they would talk about was the economic problems they were facing. Losing their houses, being broke, etc.

I have no idea what the dream meant but I am never stealing a mall officer's security baton.

Wisdom teeth out

I had all four of my wisdom teeth pulled Monday.

I debated about whether to have anesthesia. I decided to be put under but when I reached Dr. Denbrock's office I discovered that while my dental insurance said it was covered 100% the doctor's office refused to believe them.

It was a tense moment in the lobby with Anthony standing there with me. Plus, I also learned they don't honor the negotiated pricing with the insurance company (Delta Dental). The financial part seemed shady at best.

I decided to get them out without being knocked out.

It worked out fine in the end. I didn't have any complications including not getting dry socket and am back to work.

It is a reminder to me though that the medical community is shady at best. Its like a group of used car salesmen with scrubs on.

Twitter outage

I am a big fan of Twitter.

Today was tough. Twitter was hit with a DDOS. Basically someone put together a targeted attack that overwhelmed the Twitter servers and made Twitter unusable for common folk like myself.

It is a real reminder that there are people who have nothing but evil on their minds. I just go to work, come home, use my Blackberry to say random things. It never occurs to me that someone sits in their living room with some kind of bizarre agenda and wants to suck the joy out of millions of people's lives like mine.

I think of social networking and blogging as fun and connecting with people. I am obviously oblivious to someone in Russia (or anywhere else) who believes that disrupting a website gets them the attention they crave.

Hopefully order will be restored soon. In the meantime, I will just tell myself the jokes that I would normally tell on Twitter!
