Five week water repair

I hope I don't jinx myself but I think we're done with water repairs around my house for a while.

The washing machine drain was one problem and required a plumber. The other was the leak that sprang up from the ground out near the street on October 11.

It was a five week wait but Tucson Water finally came out yesterday and repaired the pipe that was leaking. What I found kind of fascinating was that they cut the hole in the street to make the repair on the other side of the street. The little pond was on our side of the street. I suppose this is why I'm not in the water line repair business. The logic of this escapes me.

It took five weeks of waiting for them to come and repair the leak and only a few hours to get the work done including patching the street with asphalt.

Now I just need to kill the weeds growing where the little pond was.

The repair was made to the damaged
pipe on the other side of the street
(this photo was shot on my side).
It's the little dark patch over there.

No more standing water around the little vault
where the water meter lives.
I have to end the life of the green stuff in this
photo with weed killer this weekend.
