No Nut Butter, pickle ecstasy, and stool softener

It's Sunday night, which is dinner and grocery time for good ol' Anthony and I.

Dinner was at Jimmy John's at Grant and Swan (it's located by Walgreen's, where I needed to pick up my sinus infection antibiotic prescription).

We headed to our favorite Walmart Neighborhood Market at Broadway and Camino Seco after dinner for some grocery shopping.

Alex, who I work with, tells me every time I don't post grocery store photos at the end of a weekend that he's disappointed. I may still be under the weather this week but I made the effort to shoot and post some pictures. I hate to disappoint if he goes to all the trouble to look at my photos and read the crap I write.

It's the little things I suppose.

I ordered my favorite sandwich:
A number two (roast beef)

Anthony isn't happy eating at
Jimmy John's unless he
gets a pickle.

Pure pickle ecstasy

I prefer nut in my butter
thank you very much.

Avengers Age Of Ultron cereal
It has marshmallows
because that's what every
super hero needs for breakfast

Star Wars cereal
It has marshmallows because
that's what every fake
space person needs
for breakfast

Disney Frozen cereal
It has marshmallows because
that's what every annoying
Disney character
needs for breakfast

Wild Mike's Ultimate Pizza
I don't know who Wild Mike is
but he must be a cool dude if
he makes a giant pizza like
this while sporting spiky
hair, a unabrow, and
a perma grin.

Someone abandoned this Star Wars
character in the random seasoning
bin. It looks like he is
crowd surfing, or in this case
it's spice surfing.

Bigs Sunflower Seeds
Anthony can't decide between
the ranch and the dill pickle.
Sounds like a date he's had.

Pepperidge Farm Milano cookies
Pumpkin Spice...
which is the Spice Girl
no one ever talked about.

I thought Phineas and Ferb went off
the air years ago but apparently
no one told the Cheez-It folks.

Knives and eyeballs make
spooktacular cupcake
decorations for Halloween.
To die for!

I tried to come up with a
clever cleaver caption
but I couldn't think of anything
that would cut it.

Popcorn bags
"Graveyard Grub"
I'd go to a cemetery more often
if they served snacks.

Abandoned bananas in the cleaning
products aisle.
What makes someone decide that
they need bathroom cleaner
more than four bananas?

Bringing back a classic:
Yoooooo Anthony!
I've got something for you
that'll relieve the pressure
on your colon
(not that you actually have
colon pressure, I just made
it up for my own
amusement... ahem)

Bonus:
Yoooooo Anthony!
I found you some stool softener
in case you sit on a stool
that's a bit too hard
and uncomfortable.

Trying to fix a broken sinus

I've had a congestion issue with my left sinus for over a week. After getting some antibiotics from Anthony's doctor aunt (he called her and had her prescribe something for me) to treat what I thought was a sinus infection, I was not getting any better.

So, I decided to head to urgent care today to make sure that what I thought was a sinus infection was actually a sinus infection. And, to make sure I was taking the right antibiotics for treating it.

I went to FastMed at Grant and Swan. These storefront urgent care clinics have popped up in Tucson in the last handful of years but I had never tried one.

There were only a few people in the waiting room and I was seen by a doctor approximately half an hour after arrival. The girl working the front desk seemed like she wasn't terribly enthusiastic to be there but she was cordial and professional, so it didn't create an issue.

The nurse and the doctor were both super nice. The doctor determined that the sinus infection diagnosis was correct and prescribed me a different antibiotic in an attempt to kick the sinus infection's ass.

The odd sequence that occurred while I was there was the determination that I also have screaming high blood pressure. I have to go find another doctor to get it treated. I'm not looking forward to that since I have a pretty significant fear of anything medical. But, I suppose it's better than having a heart attack although that would force me to take a vacation.

I tried to make a joke about it to the doctor... saying if I poked my arm with a needle that I could create a neat little red fountain. They weren't amused for some reason.

Here's hoping the sinus infection goes away in a few days. I'm tired of being miserable.

Lucky at La Encantada

Twice a year since Lucky has been in our lives I've taken him up to La Encantada mall for the doggy fashion show at the Women's Spa and Wellness Showcase, which also happens twice a year. It's produced by the radio stations in our group 106.3 The Groove and 94.9 MIXfm.

Today was the day for the fall 2015 edition. It was a really nice day outside so it was an enjoyable experience. Anthony had errands to run with his mom so it was just Lucky and I who made the trip.

I pulled a classic outfit out and put his sporty "Rufferee" shirt on. People seemed to like it last time and it was a hit again today.

Lucky gets really excited when we go places and even though he looks like the most scared dog on the planet when we're there, his enthusiasm for going is super cute.

Carrington College shoot

We had an on-location shoot today for the TV show at Carrington College.

The shoot focused on their medical assistant program but we also got a tour of some of the other areas of the school when we shot b-roll for the segment.

I took show host Tina to a late lunch afterward at Del Taco. I wish I lived on the side of town where all of the Del Taco locations are (they're all on the west side and I live on the east side). I'd eat there quite often. I've always had big love for Del Taco. The chicken soft tacos are like crack.
