Vegas Vacation: VIP Bowling Party at Red Rock

One of the activities we dove into while we were in Las Vegas was a VIP bowling party at Red Rock Casino / Red Rock Lanes. This is one time where having the poomobile came in handy. It was about a 20 minute drive from the strip area and having a car to drive over there was much cheaper than getting a taxi.

Red Rock is an impressive venue. It is one of the largest casinos I've ever been in. The casino floor is massive with hundreds of slot machines, there is a hotel there as well as a multiplex movie theater, and a bowling alley. There may be more to it than what I just described, that's all I was able to see during the time we were there. I could easily spend a vacation just staying at that facility and have plenty to do.

Brandon had arranged thanks to some online rewards he had for Anthony, he and I to have a VIP bowling party at Red Rock Lanes. They have a separate area for VIP parties that are essentially like mini lounges with cushy couches, four bowling lanes per suite, music video screens, and a VIP host. These parties normally go for over a thousand dollars.

We had a blast bowling and the two hours we had the suite flew by. A big thanks to Brandon for arranging for this as part of our vacation in Vegas. It was awesome.

Anthony's head inside of the Red Rock Casino in Las Vegas

KEN-o!

Entrance to the bowling area of Red Rock

VIP bowling area "closed for a private function".
Heh heh private.... function.

We be VIP!

Brandon bowls, I hold a heavy ball awaiting my turn.

If I was on a bowling poster, it would look something like this.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
I knocked down six pins.
Bad ass, I know.

Aqua's "Barbie Girl" plays on the video screen.
I like that song, they say "Ken" in it.

Entrance to our VIP bowling suite at Red Rock

Bowling suite as seen from the back of the room

Brandon launches his Barbie ball down the lane.
Sounds like a date he's had.

Anthony bowls, I take a photo.
The end.

Brandon's Barbie bowling ball.
It brings out the shape of his head.

It's easier to bowl with the bumpers up.
Just ask Anthony.

I kissed a ball and I liked it.

I should have stuck my butt out farther when I bowled.
Not because it would make me a better bowler
but because any excuse to stick out my butt
is a good excuse to stick out my butt.

Assuming the frog position.
It tells the pins "I should fall down now"

Damn Anthony....
back at it again with the fancy bowling shoes.

Brandon put our names into the computer... can you tell?
The gay was the better bowler today.
So put that in your pipe and smoke it.

Vegas Vacation: Vegas Experience Part 2

While in Las Vegas, we did experience a little bit of what the strip has to offer outside of the Flamingo.

We took a walk over to Caesar's Palace on Sunday, ate dinner on Tuesday night at Tequila Taqueria inside of Bally's, and even rode the Las Vegas Monorail.

Here are some more photos from our Las Vegas vacation:

A statue outside of Caesar's Palace.
His arm must get tired being up like that all of the time.

The heesecake Factory.
You have to C it to believe it.

This random guy was passed out on the floor
of the shops at Caesar's Palace.
Someone had a little too much Vegas that night.

He must have thought if he passed out there
he wouldn't be seen behind that directory sign

Anthony, Lily, and Brandon riding the escalator at Caesar's

Reminded me of the movie "Big"

Reminded me of what I what I see when I look into a mirror

Anthony and Brandon know how to get into a guy's head

If I looked like this I'd never wear clothes.
But since I look more like the Yoda photo above,
now you know why I wear clothes.

I couldn't quite get my mouth around the cherry

Anthony tried to buy a Red Bull from this vending machine.
It made all kinds of exciting whirring noises and a little
arm moved up to grab it, and then it didn't dispense anything.
The vending machines are as much of a gamble
on the Vegas strip as the slot machines.

Platform down to the Las Vegas Monorail

Brandon taking off his shades on the monorail

These random people were riding the monorail
and sitting in all of the seats so we had to stand.

Spotted this unique piece of art outside of
one of the restaurants.

Ooooooooo!
They have Red Bull.
Anthony is a happy boy.

Someone in an Olaf costume outside of the doors of the Cromwell.
It's only 105 degrees outside and a million degrees
in the costume.

Brandon and Lily play craps

They don't do million dollar spins early week.
My dream of being a millionaire will have to
be fulfilled another day.

Lily and Brandon look over the menu at Tequila Taqueria

I managed to get one eating photo during this trip.
Thanks Lily!

Anthony's chicken tacos at Tequila Taqueria

Brandon's salad at Tequila Taqueria

I had Carne Asada tacos at Tequila Taqueria.
I have no idea why the rice was green. It tasted like rice.
Unless it was supposed to be the color of money
like everything in Vegas.

Vegas Vacation: Vegas Experience Part 1

The Ken Carr vacation to Las Vegas included staying at the Flamingo Hotel.

The hotel is in the process of renovating rooms at the facility. We were not in one of the renovated ones but it was just fine except for a few cosmetic issues in the room itself and the section of the hotel we were staying in only had half of the available elevators working.

But, I'm one to always make the best of most situations so I did appreciate the air conditioning functioing well, the shower may have had a continuous drip but there was always hot water, and the wi-fi worked great so I could get some work done for the TV show each day (a vacation doesn't mean no work gets done, it just means I'm somewhere else doing my work).

Here are some photos I shot while staying at the Flamingo:

View at night from the parking garage at the Flamingo
looking toward Flamingo Road and Las Vegas Blvd

looking toward the main entrance outside

Ken Carr and Anthony for three nights only
in fabulous Las Vegas!

Someone thought the parking garage elevator
needed some air conditioning

This lampshade in our room at the Flamingo
has seen better days

View looking toward Bally's out of our room window

View looking toward The Cromwell from our room

View looking down from our room at the Flamingo

Someone made the floor wet near the elevators.
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

"In case of fire use stair" sign.
Don't use more than one.

The first night playing slots was my only winning night.
I sucked the rest of the time.

Flamingo Hotel pool.
It looked wonderful and fun to me.
Brandon and Anthony said they thought it was too crowded.
In my head, I imagined all of those beautiful people
at the pool would lust after my pasty white old fat ass.
A boy can dream.
(I never did get to try my dream out)

This little shop near the elevators had sandwiches and pastries.
I had a delicious turkey wrap from there and a chocolate chip cookie.
We found out those brown pointy things were key lime pie.
Who would have guessed?

Our room number at the Flamingo.
I didn't read the number, I felt the number by using the Braille bumps.

The door of our room.
It uses one of those door cards instead of a key.
Fancy.

The hallway outside of our room.
If I was a better photographer, this wouldn't
be slightly tilted.
Oopsie.

I could see where the poomobile was parked on the top floor
of the Flamingo parking garage from our room window.

Where the magic happens.

Some things never change....
there was a Holy Bible placed by The Gideons
in the nightstand drawer.

View looking into the main room of the hotel room
as seen from the room with the bed in it.

Anthony packing up his gear to leave on the last
morning we were there.

View of the "living room" part of the hotel room.
Anthony was happy that the TV got the Bravo network.
A Real Housewives marathon occupied a lot of
the screen time when we were in the room.

The bathroom (shower behind the door)

Down in the Flamingo casino...
this random guy passed out in front of a slot machine.
One advantage to passing out in front of a slot machine
is that you can't lose money if you aren't conscious.

One of the shops at the Flamingo is called "Lick".
It's a candy store with a sweet name.

It's gum.
Possibly the best packaging of gum ever.
