Kenparazzi photos of the moon

I wanted to share a couple of photos I shot of the moon.  The first one is on a night with high clouds on February 18, 2014 and the second one is on a clear night tonight (March 15, 2014) with a full moon.

I shot the photos with my Canon SX50 with a 1200mm zoom lens.  There has been no alteration to the pictures -- posted as is.

No sign of Pharrell's hat at Arby's

Anthony and I did some fine dining tonight... at Arby's.  There was no sign of anyone wearing that big hat that music mogul Pharrell Williams is now famous for that resembles the hat in the Arby's logo.  But, there was delicious food.

Anthony was messier than usual.  I actually got photographic evidence this time.  Which makes me the most evil person on Earth.  Sorry Anthony, but sometimes humor has to win.

Big Lots shopping cart crash

I live about a mile from the nearest Big Lots store, and somehow one of their shopping carts ended up on the street west of the apartment complex I live in.  Even worse, it appears to have crashed into a ditch.

Someone call AAA.

A cockroach looking for a job plunges to his death

A co-worker came into my office today and showed me a photo she shot with her camera phone of a cockroach that had located itself on an employee bulletin board at the other end of the building.

I decided to go take pictures of this cockroach that, as it turned out, unknowingly had a sense of humor.

He was on the back of a job posting paper and ended up spending several hours on the board before finally dying by mid-afternoon, falling off the board, and landing in his final resting place on the floor below.

He hung on for a couple of hours before plunging to his death.

Unemployment can be harsh.

Ken Carr Photo Art: Why Can't We Be Fronds?

It was a dusty day in southern Arizona yesterday due to wind and the lack of rain we've had this winter.  It turn the air in this area hazy but created an interesting photo op when I got home from work yesterday.

I was getting out of my car when I got to my apartment complex and across the street there was a worker trimming the fronds from a palm tree.  I thought it made for an interesting photo with the sun behind him and the tree with some dusty sky mixed in.
