Balls of Coke and a hot fudge sundae

Anthony and I went to Walmart Neighborhood Market at Grant and Alvernon after our dinner at Panera Bread, and then stopped at the combination Dunkin Donuts / Baskin Robbins at Grant and Swan.

That Walmart Market location was the usual spectacular people watching location that it's always been (we haven't been to that one in a while).  They were already stacking pallets at the end of the aisles to stock the store and it was about 7:00 p.m.  I wish the folks that run Walmart would wait until late night before doing that, it makes shopping there difficult and annoying.  But, that company has never been particularly interested in a pleasant shopping experience.  I go there because it's cheap and put up with the annoyances.  I suppose it's the price I pay for paying less.

The Dunkin Donuts / Baskin Robbins was remodeled about a year ago and it's really nice.  Both of us had sundaes.  I found it amusing that the guy two tables over had his nose nearly touching the newspaper he was reading.  He obviously needs to get his eyes checked.  I hope he wasn't driving.

Aww, they're so cute and holiday-esque.

Why don't they serve something this wonderful in the restaurants?

Anthony's is bigger than mine.

That spoonful of ice cream is doomed.
It's heading to Anthony's belly!

First visit to Panera Bread

Anthony and I went to dinner tonight.  We decided to try Panera Bread, the location at Grant and Swan that used to be Paradise Bakery (and before that was Buddy's Grill).

It's basically a deli with a pretty big selection of fancy desserts.

I got a smokehouse turkey Panini, and Anthony got a Sierra turkey sandwich.

I was a bit shocked at the price.  My sandwich, which was on sourdough with turkey, cheese, bacon, and mustard, was $7.69.  I could have made it at home for less than a dollar.

The food was ok, but it's pretty expensive for what you get.  I will say it's nice inside if you find that important.  The desserts are the homerun at this joint.

Anthony's Sierra turkey sandwich, it cost $7.09.
Chips and drink were $1.99 more.

There's a bun on my desk

Carl's Jr. brought burgers with their new fresh baked buns to the show on Friday.

The burgers were quickly snatched up by the staff after the show, but there were some leftover plain buns.

One of them ended up on my desk.  The last time a bun was on my desk was when I sat on it.  That was two buns.

It's buttery, it's fresh, and it's on my desk.
The one time buns on my desk can't get me in trouble with human resources.

KGUN is surrounded by shopping carts

I had to go to work tonight for a couple of hours to prepare for tomorrow.  The producer that works with me has a vacation day and I have to do her job while she's gone (some of it, anyway).

An odd sight greeted me when I got to the TV/Radio building:  Four shopping carts neatly arranged outside of the east door.

Maybe Black Friday shoppers were too weak from the hard work they put in getting big time bargains to return them to the nearby Walmart.  Saving big money on a TV can be exhausting.

Whoever left them at least remembered to take their children out of the cart.

Picking up peeps at the Tucson Airport

I went to the Tucson Airport this morning.  Before you start thinking that I actually flew somewhere on vacation (if you are a regular reader, then you know that is extremely rare... both flying and me taking a vacation), I picked Anthony and his Dad (Paul) from a four day weekend trip they took to California.

There were two great reasons to pick them up:  1.)  I missed Anthony and was glad to see him and 2.)  I got all of the excitement of the airport without the expense!  Yes, it's true, I do find the airport exciting.... mostly because I like the people watching part.

They were funny to have in the car.  I've met his Dad a handful of times before.  It was interesting to see Anthony and his dad interacted.  Anthony corrects a lot of things that his Dad says.  I think you can learn a lot about people by how they communicate with their parents.

Lucky was super excited to see Anthony.  The dog had been really depressed the whole time he was gone.  Lucky isn't really happy unless the three of us are together and he shows it.  I told Anthony today that I hope one of us doesn't die before the dog does, or he'll have to go into some kind of dog therapy.

I ate it in the car when I stopped for gas.
It was like a real road trip.

I was waiting for Anthony and his dad Paul.

Anthony arrives!
The guy behind him at the bottom of the stairs looked like he had
never photo bombed someone before.

Paul arrives!
And excuse me little baby grabbing the sign, you are not supposed
to be blocking the aisle. Move along.
