Apartment Inspection

One of the joys (ok, not joys) of apartment living is the occasional inspection.

Management is doing a 'bank inspection' of the property today.  Apparently whatever bank has the mortgage on the complex wants to make sure its still there.  I have no idea what they look at (or for) when they do these inspections but I made sure I put my dirty underwear in the clothes hamper.

I hope Lucky doesn't freak out when they come.  He still gets stressed and nervous at every little thing and I've been leaving a radio on when I go to work recently in hopes the music makes him feel better.  He seems to get separation anxiety easily.

If I get home from work tonight and there is no food in the refrigerator I'll know the inspectors helped themselves to free lunch.  I just bought a box of Little Debbie Christmas Tree cakes and put them in there (the cakes are better cold) so I'll be disappointed if they are gone before I can eat 'em.

I hope my neighbors leave their dirty underwear on the floor during this inspection...
then I'll look like a cleaner tenant.

Anthony's journey to work

Anthony asked me if I would ride with him to work today and bring his car back home.  He's going out with co-workers after work and didn't want to risk driving after have a cocktail.  I was happy to do it.

He drove there, and I drove his SUV back.  Since I was a passenger for half of the excursion, I had the chance to take some pictures. (Click on any photo to see it enlarged)

Here's Anthony... in a rare moment where he couldn't run from the Kenparazzi camera.

Travelling south on Swan Road in Tucson.
Today was really cold, in the 50's.
It is amazing how a 110 degree and a 50 degree day can look exactly the same in a photograph.

The 2012 election was five days ago and there are campaign signs still up.
These were at Golf Links and Swan.
Ironically, Frank Antenori and Todd Clodfelter lost their elections.
It must take longer to take signs down when you lose.

This billboard for 104.1 The Truth is in a good spot to advertise the radio station
to people on their way to the hospital or wanting tacos and carnitas.

Air at Circle K is one dollar for four minutes.
But, checking your air pressure is free and it takes Visa and MasterCard.
Now that is value!

This woman was walking the median near Ajo Way selling newspapers.
In other news, that Cricket store is under new management.
If they need new sales associates, they might consider recruiting out on the median.

This is where Anthony works.

The Pima County Juvenile Court building is relatively large.
It's parking lot is also very empty on Saturday afternoon.

I don't think sign is referring to racquetball.

Side view of the Juvenile Court building.

That dark part above the wall is the roof over the area where juvenile inmates get exercise.
That's much nicer than what I thought they'd get...
a VHS tape of Richard Simmons 'Sweatin' To The Oldies'.

Driving back home... and I ended up following a hearse.
People are dying to ride in this vehicle.

Happy Thanksgiving from the Bobby Rich Morning Mix

I was in the TV studio a few days ago and Bobby Rich, Mrs. Grant, and Greg Curtis were in front of the green screen (although it was blue that day) doing a TV promo for 94.9 MIX-fm's upcoming Thanksgiving on the Mayflower food drive for the Community Food Bank.

I suppose this could be called a 'behind the scenes' moment.  I grabbed my camera to shoot photos of the trio at work on their promo.

This was a shot that really ended up bringing out the essence of what they're like together.
Except they usually don't wear pilgrim hats and stand in front of a green screen (that's blue).

Election 2012 is over

Its the day after the 2012 election.

First of all, I'm amazed as how nuts people are on Facebook and Twitter about politics.  I actually read posts leading up to the election that said things like "if Obama is reelected, I'm packing up and moving to China".  That ranks among the stupidest things I've ever read.

This morning, as I was driving to the TV station, I heard on the Jon Justice radio talk show (on 104.1) a woman named Darlene who was crying.  She was distraught that Obama had won.  Crying real tears.  I couldn't keep myself from laughing.  Its cute she cares that much, but she doesn't have a grip on reality.  Then I switched the station so I could hear some Justin Bieber.

I do have opinions about politics.  I mostly keep them to myself.  I know that it doesn't really matter who wins the election.  Because it rarely, if ever, affects my day to day life.

It seems to be the same mentality that comes with sports.  You pick a side or a candidate, and if your choice wins its exciting and you feel victorious.  If your choice loses, its devistating.  But it really doesn't have an affect on most people's lives.

I watched a little bit of the election returns on TV... after I watched some episodes of Cops recorded on TiVo.  That tells you how much I was worrying about the election.

Lucky wasn't worrying either.

Lucky is a bathroom rug-publican.

Kenparazzi Video: Arizona vs Humboldt State

As I mentioned in a previous blog post, I attended my very first Arizona men's basketball game last night.

The Wildcats played Humboldt State in a preseason game and won 108-67.

I brought along my video camera.  I was worried when I left that I didn't get very good footage but after sitting down today to edit, I put together some scenes from the game.  The finished product turned out better than I thought it would.

I'm still learning how to shoot and edit.  It's a fun and creative hobby for me.  Every video that I have done I learn more and work on developing a style.  I love photography!

Anyway, here's the video -- as shot from section 3, row 2, seat 3 at the McKale Center in Tucson.

If you have an Apple device, you'll need the direct link to view on YouTube.  Click here.
