Walmart Market - Purple Pants and Kite Brownies

My grocery store of choice is Walmart Neighborhood Market.  It has quite an array of customers (which makes for some epic people watching).  It also has the lowest prices and is open 24 hours a day (the only grocery stores in the Tucson area open all night besides the convenience stores).

They also have delicious red skin potato salad and ridiculously cheap Diet Coke (today it was $6.36 for a case of 24 cans).

As always, I had a camera with me and did grab a few photos:

A "People of Walmart" moment:
A woman packed herself into extremely tight
pink/purple pants with a significant bleach stain in the butt crack area.
Who wouldn't be sexually aroused?

One lip?
No!  Tulip!
And, creme filled!

The deliciousness of kites combined with the tastiness of brownies in one snack.

I snuck a photo of Anthony while we were at the checkout.
I think he was staring at the magazine with Snooki in a bikini on the cover.

Meeting Ed Asner

I had the privilege of meeting acting legend Ed Asner today.

He was a guest on the Morning Blend and was awesome.

If you aren't familiar, he has played roles such as Lou Grant on Mary Tyler Moore back in the 1970's, Captain Davies in the mini-series Roots, Santa Claus in the movie Elf, and voiced the character of Carl Frederickson in the animated movie "Up".

He sat in my office today for nearly an hour and he asked me all kinds of questions about my life and career.  He genuinely seems to like people and we had a really amazing conversation.

Hard to say who has more fabulous hair.

Goodbye Jason Liberto!

Jason, the promotions director at Journal (where I work) has resigned to take a job in Phoenix at one of the rock stations there.

We celebrated with a little goodbye party at Sir Veza's on Speedway Friday evening.

Here are the photos!

Jason reads the card everyone signed, Rik laughs

Happy Birthday J.P.!

JP, one of the awesome people who I work with, has a birthday today.

We celebrated with cake and silliness.

It's also Justin Bieber's 18th birthday so I pretended we were celebrating that too.

Leslie presents JP with his birthday cake.

Blow! Blow like the wind!

Cake is served!

JP puts on my Hulk hands.
You wouldn't like him when he's angry.

I don't have proof, but I believe this is JP's "O" face.

Pima College Performing Arts "Curtain" - the video

I mentioned in a previous post that I had gone and shot video for a segment on the Morning Blend at the Pima College Performing Arts production of "Curtains" on Saturday.

Here's the video.  Alex, one of the hosts on the Morning Blend, was the police officers in the brown hat and trenchcoat that makes the arrest of the killer in the production's climax.
