It was a meeting, not a meating

I attended a meeting today that included refreshments and plenty of useful information about health plan benefits being offered next year at my place of employment.

That's how all meetings should go. I always vote for refreshments to be served. Although, it was primarily sliced fruit that was offered. I hope this isn't a trend... I do prefer the donuts, pizza, cookies and pastries that often are on the menu. Of course, I have a Diet Coke to wash it down with so it cancels out the calories.

Totally by accident, I shot this photo
while a fork full of fruit was entering
his mouth.
Damn, I'm good.

I'm looking over a shoulder
while a co-worker plays solitaire
during the meeting.
He has a fancy Apple watch on
and is playing solitaire on
a twenty year old computer.
Something is wrong
with this picture.

Bratwurst pizza and menopause relief

Sunday = Dinner and grocery time for Anthony and I.

Taco Bell was the dinner spot, Walmart Neighborhood Market for groceries.

Anthony got a box deal that included a burrito thing with volcano sauce (he said it was really good), and tacos with the Doritos shells. I had my favorite, a Smothered Burrito. Every time I order one I always have to resist the urge to say to the Taco Bell employee "Hey baby, will you smother my burrito?" I might not like the answer I get.

It was the usual shenanigans at the grocery store. We usually buy the same stuff and I search for unusual products to take pictures of.

Anthony really knows how to
make unwrapping and holding a burrito
seem so sexual

"Hey baby, will you
smother my burrito?"

Chobani Pumpkin Greek Yogurt
They make just about everything
with pumpkin these days
so why not Greek yogurt?

More Chobani pumpkin yogurt.
Their "flip" variety...
Pumpkin Spice Harvest.
Which also sounds like
an air freshener I would
use in the bathroom
to make a poor attempt
at disguising my poop smell.

Duck Commander wine
If a duck commander was actually
drinking wine, I think it's more
likely it would be out
of a box.

Carnival Fruit Roll-Ups
It's fruit roll ups with
carnival rides printed
on them in festive
carnival flavors.
But, they did forget
stinky carnival worker
and horse poop flavors.

Tombstone Hulapeno Pizza
with pineapple and jalapenos
and their signature zesty sauce

Tombstone Bratwurst Pizza
Personally, I prefer my
Bratwurst between two buns.

Jolly Time Blast O Butter
And just like in the theater
it's artificially flavored.
And, blast o butter sounds
like a date I've had.

Yooooo Anthony!
I found this menopause relief
for you to help you reduce
your hot flashes, night sweats,
and manage your fatigue.
It's tough being 31 years old.

Yooooo Anthony!
I found this candy bar
with your name on it.

Yooooooo Anthony!
I found another candy bar
with your name on it.

Broken water line at the Ken Carr World Headquarters

I'm still recovering from a sinus infection but I couldn't stall any longer on doing some yard work. The weeds in the backyard of this house were about eight inches tall and some other weeds in the yard needed to get a nice bath of weed killer. I'm not a violent man, I just think weeds should die.

After firing up the weed eater and knocking the backyard growth down, I got the weed sprayer out and when I got to the front yard I noticed a problem with the little cement vault that the water meter lives in out by the street.

The water meter was replaced with a smart meter a few months ago. Now, an issue with the water line that leads to the meter has occurred. The water line has sprung a leak.

I took a chance and called Tucson Water. Someone was working the emergency line (even on a Sunday afternoon, how amazing!) and said they'd send someone over this evening to see why the little cement vault was now drowning in it's own juices.

A really nice guy showed up about an hour later and determined that the water line that leads to the meter has been compromised somehow. He also said that it's on "the city's side". That translates to good news for Anthony's mom (who owns the house we rent) since it means the city gets to bear the cost of repair. He told me that he'd do up a work order and it's likely they'll have to cut into the pavement in the street to get to the part of the line that is leaking so it can be repaired.

In the meantime, he did turn the water back on so Anthony could still take his hundred showers a day (that may be a slight exaggeration, but only slight) and I can flush my poop.

It turned out that it was a good thing I did the yard work today or I wouldn't have noticed the leak for a period of time. I don't go to that part of the yard very often. There isn't much to do out by the curb except the occasional spraying of weeds.

The little cement vault that holds
the water meter had sprung a leak

Close up view to show the water
leaking from underneath it

It's a little wet

I stuck my finger in to show how
deep it is.
Sounds like a date I've had.

Sinus Infection Part 2

I went back to FastMed urgent care again to have the sinus infection that I've been suffering with get another look. It's been a rough couple of weeks.

The waiting room was pretty busy but they got me in super fast. The doctor determined that I didn't have the infection anymore. So, she prescribed me Flonase to deal with what she felt was a continuing allergic reaction I'm having to something environmental.

She also prescribed me a month run of blood pressure medication. I guess the numbers were high enough that it had her worried. I wanted to go for a record but a quick search of the internet on my phone seemed to indicate that there was not a Guiness World Record for blood pressure so I suppose it would be futile to try unless I could get a certificate or prize.

My sinus system has improved a bit over the weekend so maybe I'm finally on the mend. Now I have to find something else to complain about.

Same exam room I was in last time
at FastMed at
Grant and Swan

I've decided that sheet of paper down
the middle is nothing more than a
psychological ploy to make me
think I'm not absorbing the butt
and back sweat
of the last patient

The girl on the wall
is still laughing at me

Visit to the Walgreen's pharmacy
to pick up my new prescriptions.
They just remodeled this location
at Grant and Swan in the
last year and it looks spiffy.

I got to witness a heart warming
reunion between these two guys
who apparently worked together
at some point and now both have
injuries from their respective jobs.
Who says memories can't be
made in the back of a Walgreen's?

Now that's a rainbow

We've had what I consider to be an unusual early fall rainy few days. It's also been unusually chilly. Today's high was only in the mid 70's when our normal high is in the 90's for this time of year.

The rainy weather did bring a spectacular rainbow out this morning. I was taking Lucky out to pee before I headed into work and shot this with my iPhone:

my backyard on October 7, 2015.
