Flax Seed for your hole and chicken bones in a parking lot

This is the end of the Memorial Day weekend and I have a confession to make: I enjoyed three days off in a row. Don't tell anyone because I have a reputation of refusing to take time off and someone might actually think I liked sleeping in three days in a row.

Anthony and I hung around the house most of the weekend except for a trip to Casino Del Sol to play bingo (I didn't win) and for dinner out and grocery shopping tonight. I also gave Lucky a bath and did my laundry. Once again, I've outdone myself with the fabulous and exciting life I lead.

A few photos from tonight's trip outside of the house:

Dinner at the Speedway and Pantano Arby's.
Going out to eat on Memorial Day
gave us a restaurant all to ourselves.

I had the Smokehouse Turkey (again).
That's a good sandwich.

Walmart Market at Broadway and Camino Seco
did not have a lot of customers either.
I noticed this "Everyday Detox"
and thought of the friends I have
that should use this.

Banquet Meal Starters
It has "meat crumble and textured
vegetable protein".
Sounds like a date I've had.

They named this after my jokes:
Smooth and cheesy

Flax Seed for your hole.
Just add my thumb.

Yoooooo Anthony!
I found some Brewer's Yeast for you.
I have no idea what it does
but it was the only thing I could
get a photo of with you in it.

Someone left their chicken bones
in the Walmart Market parking lot.
I offered to bring them home for
Anthony to gnaw on but he said
he wasn't hungry.
His loss.

What interns really do

We had a mini-horse on the show last week, and I had to work in the control room that day so I handed off my camera to a co-worker to shoot some photos on my behalf.

One of the photos was hilarious:  Intern Andres posed next to a pile of horse poop making it look like he was having to clean up the mess. (Truth be told, the owners of the horse actually cleaned it up).

We don't make interns get coffee or pick up dry cleaning, they get much more important tasks. The photo shows what it's sometimes really like working on a TV show.

It's a "crappy" job but
somebody's gotta do it.

Thanks for the gift, mini horse.

Do they make diapers this size?

Patron is now KENtron

I received a super nice gift from intern Andres on the last day of his internship Friday.

He gave me a bottle of liquor. And, he altered the label to customize the gift. I have extra respect for a guy who knows that adding Ken to anything makes it a little bit better.

Now Patron is KENtron! Thanks Andres for the thoughtful gift.

Patron should have been called
Kentron in the first place.

A shiny bun and extra long French bread

It's Sunday, the day each week that Anthony and I have dinner and go grocery shopping. We're as predictable as the sun coming up or seeing cleavage during an awards show on TV.

Tonight's dinner was at the Broadway and Camino Seco McDonald's. This location is notorious for us because the last time we went there the power went out during an afternoon of monsoon storms. We had just gotten our food when the lights went out last summer and it would have been fun if we ate in the dark, but they did have emergency lights so we ate by emergency lights. Nothing that dramatic happened on this visit.

I had their new 1/3 pound sirloin burger, the "Steakhouse" version and Anthony had a chicken sandwich. The sirloin burger was pretty good. It had grilled onions, swiss cheese, and mushrooms.

The only remarkable thing about the grocery shopping part of our trip at Walmart Neighborhood Market at Broadway and Camino Seco was that the total for the two of us came to under $100 dollars. That hasn't happened in a while, it was kind of exciting.

Next weekend is Memorial Day weekend, which is a three day weekend for me. It's the first weekday I've had off this year and it'll be enjoyable to get three days in a row of sleeping later.

My, what a shiny bun you have.

French Bread at Walmart Market.
I was impressed by how long it is.
Sounds like a date I've had.

Haaaaaaay Anthony!
I know you don't need this
but I found something for you.
On a side note, the guy in front
of us at the check out actually
bought this product.
And we laughed and laughed...

Lucky's spring shedding Part 2

Normally I'm able to give Lucky a bath every two weeks and he smells fine and fresh the whole two weeks. He's inside 99% of the time so he stays pretty clean.

This last three weeks he has been shedding like he has an internal desire to be bald. He seems to be eating fine, acting fine, pooping fine, and there are no signs that anything is out of the ordinary. This is the first spring we've lived in this house so I'm thinking he's just going through a shedding period related to the changing of the seasons.

It's creating a mess. I'm now bathing him every weekend and lots of brushing to get rid of dead fur he's attempting to shed. It creates quite a mess.

I posted the first photo of the shedding a couple of weeks ago, and here's another round of fur filled trash can.

I hope it ends soon, I'm too old for this much work.
