Eating in a McDonald's during a power outage

The weekly Sunday dinner and grocery run today included our house guest Payton and a bonus of ice cream after grocery shopping.

The first stop was at McDonald's at Broadway and Camino Seco.  Tucson Electric Power had been working on a power outage in that area most of the afternoon but it was back on when we were there.  Then, the power went out while we were eating.  It did come back on before we were done.  That particular McDonald's does have good back up power in place, because a number of lights in the dining room stayed on even though the kitchen area went dark, the soda machine wasn't working while the power was off, and the air conditioning stopped working.  I can now scratch being in a McDonald's during a power outage off of my bucket list.

The grocery store visit to Walmart Market at Broadway and Camino Seco across the street was pretty routine.  Groceries continue to seem to get more expensive.  I may have to start selling some of my organs to pay for eating.

We each got a scoop of ice cream at Baskin Robbins next door to Walmart Market after the grocery shopping.  And, there was a sign on the door that said they were hiring for scoopers so Payton got an application.  I hope he works there, maybe I can get a discount.

Payton is excited to eat at McDonald's at Broadway and Camino Seco.
Either that, or he's impressed with Anthony's tissue box purse.

Interesting sign in the lobby at McDonald's.
I am guessing it's because people sit for hours using Wi-Fi
and block the seating for other paying customers.

These fake flowers were a lovely touch on the ledge next to our booth

Anthony's tissue box also added some attractive table flair.

McDonald's dining room when the power went out.
The kitchen area back there was pretty dark.
But, not as scary as I imagined it.
How disappointing.

A display at Walmart Market that I cleverly photographed.
Welcome to Ken.
Enjoy my rolling hills and green grass.

I saw this sausage at Walmart Market and it was soooooo hot.

I try to avoid eating things that say Pooh on the label.
They always taste like shit.

I found this ball on the bread aisle shelf.
It was about 75 feet from the ball toy area.

Kellogg's Cinnamon Jacks
First time I've ever seen a cinnamon stick wearing a beanie.

California Girl Octopus

Margaret Holmes Green Boiled Peanuts
"The South's Favorite Snack"

I've had a big steamer before, but not ten quarts.
Maybe I need to eat larger meals.

Hey Anthony! I found something for you...
