Sundaes on Sunday

Anthony and I went to Baskin Robbins at Broadway and Camino Seco tonight before grocery shopping to get some ice cream.

I'm a fan of hot fudge sundaes.  In a tragic moment, when I ordered one tonight they informed me that they were out of vanilla ice cream.  It's the only kind of ice cream to have in a hot fudge sundae.  I was devastated.

I reluctantly got Golden Ribbon ice cream instead and had them add hot fudge to that.  I'm sure Golden Ribbon is a lovely ice cream (it's vanilla and chocolate with a caramel ribbon), but it isn't the same wonderfulness that having hot fudge on vanilla is.  It was a little bit helpful that they put the whipped cream and cherry on it anyway.  One other disaster was that they had just put more fudge in the hot fudge dispenser and it wasn't hot yet.  So I got slightly warm fudge instead.

I hope it didn't have anything to do with the Federal government shutdown.  I know a lot of things are affected but vanilla ice cream and barely warm fudge better not be one of them or I'm organizing a revolution.  A note to Baskin Robbins:  Make sure you have enough vanilla and keep your fudge hot!

It's a sign of a coming apocalypse.

and peanut butter sauce.
He didn't care that they were out of vanilla.
